Strategic AI & Innovation Roadmapping
The challenge
Organisations had AI ambition, technical capability and access to powerful technology ecosystems, but lacked a coherent route from market opportunity to investment, execution and revenue.
The intervention
Led enterprise AI and innovation roadmaps connecting sector demand, product and service strategy, R&D priorities, technical capability, partner ecosystems, governance and commercial execution.
The impact
Shaped an estimated US$40–60 million multi-year commercial opportunity across five sectors.
Held responsibility for and delivered against approximately US$100 million in annual operational target for consumption/subscription based services for AI, Machine Learning and Data Science.

AI Governance, Assurance and Responsible Innovation
The challenge
AI capability was advancing faster than organisational ownership, controls and accountability, particularly across regulated and high-consequence environments.
The intervention
Developed early responsible-AI, ethics and assurance approaches connecting board accountability with policy, commercial strategy, product development, engineering and AI operations.
The impact
Strengthened governance and responsible adoption across financial services, healthcare, energy, manufacturing, aerospace and defence.
The work also contributed to industry and policy discussions as AI regulation and management standards were taking shape, extending responsible innovation into AI for social good, conservation and sustainability.

Commercialisation and Scaled Adoption
The challenge
Promising AI and advanced technologies were frequently stalling between research, proof of concept and commercial use.
The intervention
Connected research, engineering, product, sales, customers and technology ecosystems to identify valuable applications, build investment cases, shape viable propositions and create routes towards production and scale.
The impact
Across four continents, supported AI-enabled products and services progressing towards operational use, customer adoption and repeatable market propositions.
The portfolio spans predictive analytics, computer vision, cybersecurity, pharmaceutical quality control, financial technology, ADAS, 5G, Earth observation, energy optimisation and human-machine systems.

From the Founder
I’m Dr Layla Dillon.
For 25 years, my work has lived at the intersection of advanced science, technology, leadership, and consequential decision-making, from astrophysics and space to AI, aerospace, defence, energy, finance, healthcare, telecommunications, and government.
I have led AI portfolios approximating $100 million per annum in operational targets, and helped organisations translate complex, high-stakes technologies into stable, real-world outcomes.
But I also know what it means to build inside uncertainty.
As a founder, advisor, and business builder, I understand the pressure of making decisions before all the answers are available. I know what it is to carry ambition, risk, responsibility, and limited time while trying to build something that can endure.
Again and again, I have seen the same pattern:
complexity is accelerating faster than leadership capacity.
When leaders lack clarity, advanced systems do not underperform, they compound risk. Trust fractures when it's needed most and decisions become reactive.
We are already observing these patterns as consequences spread across organisations, markets, supply chains, communities, and the planet.
XSAIA was created to close that gap.
We help leaders, boards, investors, and policy shapers make better decisions in environments where AI, space, sustainability, governance, and systemic risk are converging.
Our work turns ethics into architecture, governance into strategic advantage, and ambition into decision systems built for volatility, scrutiny, and consequence.
We build for people governing, funding, or regulating systems where the stakes are too high for confusion, aspiration without grounding, or fragmented thinking.
If you are operating at the edge of consequence, XSAIA helps you see more clearly, decide more wisely, and build systems worthy of the future they will shape.
